I AM THIS BIRD.
But really, I’m your average, everyday ornithological ecologist; I like birds, books, movies, sleeping in, staying up, and trying new things. I’m currently a Master of Science candidate at the University of Melbourne/Melbourne Museum working on creating a ‘toolbox’ for the automated identification of parrot species in SE Australia. The general idea is to make monitoring for conservation cheaper, easier and just all around more efficient… or I hope that’s how this will play out.
The general idea behind this blog is for me to explain (on a fortnightly basis) aspects of my research to a more lay audience, in order for me to better understand those aspects, and learn to communicate them better. But who knows, you might get a post about a cool weekend here and there too if you’re lucky.
